VocalEyes together with Stagetext and Autism in Museums are researching the museum visitor experience for people who use access support – this may be facilities, resources or events.  They are undertaking a national survey of visitors which is the first of its kind. It will reveal what people with access requirements need from our museums and heritages sites, and how well these venues are currently supporting them.  Responses will be published and disseminated in a report later in 2020, which they hope will catalyse further discussion and improvement in access provision.

These are difficult times, and it is uncertain when museums and heritage sites will be able to re-open.  Those engaged in the sector are working hard to support each other, their visitors and their venue’s future.  VocalEyes, Stagetext and Autism in Museums recognise that everyone is juggling multiple demands at this time.  As access and inclusion remain vital to the sector in the future, they feel seeking the feedback and opinions of visitors remains an important endeavour.

Please can you circulate the survey to your visitors via email newsletter, social media and to any access-specific subscribers you might have.  The survey link is http://vocaleyes.co.uk/museum-and-heritage-access-survey-2020/
